The PlansWill Manifesto

Love should outlive us.

Our children's future should hold more than our instructions. It should hold people who care.

01

A will can leave instructions. People carry them forward.

Your children deserve more than a document in a drawer. They deserve people who know them, listen to them and keep showing up.

02

Love needs room to use its judgment.

You cannot predict every future home, relationship or need. Leave your values and wishes. Give trusted people a way to think together when the world has changed.

03

Care and control are different things.

The people being considered as guardians do not vote on their own appointment. Choose independent voting adults. Let other people who care take part as non-voting observers.

04

Your children are people, not an inheritance.

Their safety, relationships, wishes and changing needs belong at the center of the conversation. Children get a vote. Their voices must always be heard, with the support they need to take part.

05

Put the money in a different room.

A separate Magic Five circle considers financial stewardship. A lawyer sets the actual trustee powers, safeguards and any age- or condition-based participation. A group chat cannot grant control of a trust.

06

Make a plan. Keep it human.

Record the decision-making protocol in your will with a lawyer. With Helen, choose your people and find the words to invite them. Keep record updates in your WhatsApp group. Leave a summary your circle can review, long before they need to help guide a court.

Leave a plan.
Leave a circle.
Leave room for them to grow.

A group recommendation has no independent legal force. A qualified lawyer and any required court process put the legal plan in place.
